syzygy

duration : 35minutes

A piece of choreography that traces the qualitative changes of the body through a sonic approach, focusing on the temporal changes in the sensations of dancers who execute tasks and sound that their movements generate. Two dancers undergo potential relationships with four pillars and one board.
Mediated by thefunctions of simple movements such as to stand, to fall or to lie, the body becomes equivalent to objects. Repetition of movements = labor and sound of banging the body and wooden materials on the floor echoes and accumulates in the eyes and ears. When the dancers are de-humanized and the concreteness of the body serves rhythm and phrases, "syzygy "delivers the texture of an abstract world and excitement.
